Housewarming gift

I painted a very good friend of mine these mugs.

She's absolutely crazy about Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Sherlock and Tim Burton, so that's the themes of them. I painted two images on each mug, and a quote, though the HP one has two.

Lord of the rings: Sauron on this side, and the ring, gandalf's pipe, gimli's axe and legolas' arrows on the other side. And as a quote: I made a promise, mr Frodo. A promise.

Harry Potter: Harry's glasses and scar on this side, snitch on the other. Quote one: in dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own. Quote two: We'll send you a Hogwarts toilet seat.

Sherlock: (I had help with this one, since I don't watch the series)This side has 221b, the other has the smiley. The quote is: The game is on, mrs Hudson.

And last but certainly not least, our favorite: The Tim Burton mug. On this side, Emily from Corpse Bride. On the other Jack and Zero from the Nightmare before Christmas. And inside, Tim's quote: One person's craziness is another person's reality.


I'm really glad she totally loves them. (even had a nightmare about the Burton one having melted in the dishwasher!) I'll be making more of these!

I used porcelainpaint, and a very small brush. They dried and I placed them 45 minutes in the oven on 160 degrees Celcius.
Time taken: about 3 hours (without drying and baking)
